When it is not the season to work in paddy fields, the women make baskets to kill their idle time. This collective basket weaving is a communal activity to maintain cohesiveness and togetherness. Here the women are finishing their bamboo baskets. Bamboo baskets are used for many purposes like for carrying vegetables, fruit, or food. This is a pile of baskets ready to be brought to the market. |
